Fall Harvest Party with Andrew our Gardener

We had a harvest party at school today. The purpose of the harvest party was to celebrate the end of the school garden season. We got to pick the activity we wanted to be in. There was… hat making, food Olympics, square dancing, and making wreaths! We also made a picture and signed our names on it. Andrew the gardener told us to bring in vegetables or
bread. He made a soup with all of the vegetables we brought in. We had a great time!!

Snow In October, How Can It Be?

Last week our class did a snow day. What we did was we did an experiment on snow from last March. We had to put snow in a cup and we were testing about how fast the snow could melt. We had to mark the spot with a S where the snow level was in the cup. We got three cups and we marked each cup as ether A, B, or C. Then we had to put the cups in different spots. And last we had to write where we put them and observe what happened.

You Run Your Own Body

Kids on the Block came to Allen Brook and did two puppet shows. The first was about a boy who had a mom who abused him! So he told somebody in order to get help! The second was about a girl who had been touched in a bad way and she felt bad. The person told her not to tell anyone but she did because she felt uncomfortable. The lessons Kids on the Block taught was that our bodies are our own and that it is okay to yell and tell in order to get help!

Bullying

What is bullying? Bullying is when you get teased and called names by someone else. A couple days ago we got to learn how bullying goes. Mrs. Carr and Mrs. Sumner taught us not to bully and they taught us what to do if you get bullied.
