December Auction
A couple of days ago our class had an auction. We had fun bidding against each other. People were saying numbers back and forth and it got exciting and funny. There were so many things to choose from like bouncy balls, pencils, hi-lighters, snowmen, and iron on stickers. At the end things started to slow down and people were learning how to be smart bidders. We are hoping to do this again.

Our Auction
On December 19th 2008 we had an auction. It was really fun! Instead of money we used clear green bingo chips we earned by having good behavior, bringing our homework back to school, and doing good deeds. Each chip was worth a dollar. Some people did not have as many chips as other people because they got a prize with their chips already. Mr. Nardelli was our auctioneer. We had a lot of fun!!! By Tasneem
PS. Olivia won the bid.

Allan Brook Detective Agency is here to save the day. We can solve your problems, but only if it’s a mystery or a crime. Our motto is “Any Crime, Any Time.” Everyday our class tries to solve a mystery story. We have a detective dog named Clue, who goes home with a student everyday to help solve a mystery.

Four Winds -Weathering & Erosion
In Four Winds we learned about weathering and erosion. It was fun .We did some experiments with rocks. In one of the experiments we stuck a rock in a cup of water to see if it would float. The other experiment was finding the rock that was magnetized. At first we couldn’t find it but at the end we did find it and that’s what we did at Four Winds. By Spencer
Four Winds- Rocks and Minerals
At Four Winds we learned that rocks are made differently. We did some tests that showed rocks can be magnetic and some are not. We put vinegar on some rocks to see if it fuzzed up. We shook rocks in a jar of water to show how rocks break down when they hit each other. It was a fun time and we learned lots of things about rocks.

Encyclopedia Brown
Joe’s mother came in and read us a story out of the book Encyclopedia Brown Series. We read the story "The Case of Sir Biscuit-Shooter". It was about Uncle Barney and people thinking that he went into Princess Marta’s trailer. At the end of the story Uncle Barney was innocent and they found out that it was a person named Kitty. Kitty went into Princess Marta’s trailer. That was the mystery story that we read! Thanks Alice for reading the story to us. By: Olivia Letourneau

Top Room
I created these pictures in Google Sketch Up. I really liked it but I had to take a picture of each screen and save it as a "gif" file before I could share it as a slideshow.

The Flynn Theater
My class went to the Flynn Theater, we saw The Phantom Toll booth. It was about a boy named Milo. He didn’t care about anything, and didn’t want to do anything. But he went to a magic place and rescued the 2 princesses. But at the end he realized that learning is important.

What’s In The Bag?

Last Friday Karlee, Alyse, Meagan and I did what’s in the bag. People try to guess what is inside the bag. People were guessing and guessing, they just couldn’t seem to get it. Ben or Brock guessed it was edible and it was. Then Nasser guessed that it is colorful. It was a little bit colorful and finally Maddie guessed candy corn. It was right but before you got the candy corn you had to answer a question about the U.S.A. by Julianna

Snow In October, How Can It Be?
Last week our class did a snow day. What we did was we did an experiment on snow from last March. We had to put snow in a cup and we were testing about how fast the snow could melt. We had to mark the spot with a S where the snow level was in the cup. We got three cups and we marked each cup as ether A, B, or C. Then we had to put the cups in different spots. And last we had to write where we put them and observe what happened.

You Run Your Own Body
Kids on the Block came to Allen Brook and did two puppet shows. The first was about a boy who had a mom who abused him! So he told somebody in order to get help! The second was about a girl who had been touched in a bad way and she felt bad. The person told her not to tell anyone but she did because she felt uncomfortable. The lessons Kids on the Block taught was that our bodies are our own and that it is okay to yell and tell in order to get help!
